Minoxidil side effects involve several etiologies, most of which involved simple reactions due to not following the correct instruction in using the drugs, and may be serious enough to warrant a doctor’s visit. Although they are good with aiding people maintain their hair presence, they are also the cause of adverse effects. Minoxidil side effects may also cause more than skin irritation since it enters the blood system and affects the hands, legs and face areas, limiting or totally depriving them of their sense of touch. The medicine affects the nerves that have to do with the sense of touch in these specific areas. You may also feel exuberant, cheerful and buoyant. The alcohol of minoxidil may intoxicate you especially, if you are oversensitive to it. The blood will bring the alcohol to the brain making you giddy.

The blood passes all the organs of the body, that’s why the side effects affect anywhere the blood may carry the medicine. It will cause arrhythmias a dangerous heart condition, hypogonadism which reduces your sexual drive, eating compulsion which will result to obesity.

Hair growth will also result in some areas of the body where the minoxidil gets washed away, like the armpit.

Like some of intolerances and adverse reactions, minoxidil side effects will disappear upon the discontinuation of the drug. Know your body’s weaknesses and sensitivities, especially to drugs, alcohol and medicines and save yourself from too much trouble.
